Susan from About Face

Meet Susan M. Sorensen, LE

Susan M. Sorensen is a Virginia native who graduated with honors from the Laird Institute of Spa Therapy in Manchester, NH, with a Diploma in Skin Science. She also graduated from James Madison University in Harrisonburg, Virginia, where she majored in music, concentrating on piano.

She is a Dermalogica-certified Professional Skin Therapist and Licensed Esthetician with an Expert certification and the International Dermal Institute Post-Graduate Certificate of Achievement for Skin and Body Therapy. She is certified to perform advanced skin therapies such as chemical peels, microdermabrasion, LED light therapy, ultrasonic therapy, and manual lymphatic drainage, as well as a Skin Classic Thermolysis provider.

Every treatment with Susan starts with a consultation, which serves as a framework for discussing client concerns, setting reasonable expectations, and achieving the best possible outcome.

Her passion for beautiful, healthy skin, combined with a dedication to ongoing post-graduate education, guides her treatment philosophy and has earned her a reputation as a sought-after skin therapist. Susan credits her first facialist, Irmgard Booth, a former plastic surgery OR nurse, with sowing the seed for her interest in skin science. Susan has been a frequent visitor to the Lowcountry for the past 30 years. She recently relocated to pursue a long-held dream of practicing skin therapy in a setting of stunning natural beauty and rich history. Susan is a seasoned traveler and music enthusiast who enjoys cooking, gardening, sailing, the beach, and any opportunity to be on the water.
